The best cameras for travel - Mirrorless

Sony a6500 - Best cameras for travel

Sony Alpha 6500 - R $ 6,299 on Amazon: Sony has been leading the race for mirrorless cameras, with Nikon and Canon joining the fray only in late 2018 with the launch of four full frame models (Nikon Z6 and Z7 and Canon EOS R and RP).

The Alpha 6500 (the price I set above is only for the body, without lenses) is not the most advanced model (which I will list below), but it is a good entry model for those who are looking to take photography more seriously and want to invest in a very good camera for both video and photo without breaking the bank. The A6500 is even one of the cameras we use when traveling, especially for video / vlogs, and we were very impressed with the quality of it.

It has a 24 megapixel APS-C sensor, with a touchscreen LCD screen, ISO expandable to 51200. Films in 4K at 30fps and 1080p at 120 fps. It is an excellent camera for vlogs and videos in general, especially due to its size and if combined with a wide angle lens.

The older models are also of extreme quality, like the Alpha 6000 for something like R $ 3,000, and the Alpha 6300 for R $ 4,507 only the body.

Lenses I recommend (that fit the a6500 and the other models I mentioned above):

Sony 18-135mm f / 4 E Mount Lens: Super versatile lens, with a wide field of view (18-135mm), and of extreme quality.
Sony 16-50mm f / 2.8 A Mount: The 16-50mm f / 3.5-5.6 that usually comes with the camera is not bad, but you can get a good upgrade if you buy an adapter for another type of fitting and buy the 16 -50mm with f / 2.8 aperture of A Mount fitting.
Sony 16-70mm f / 4 ZA OSS: Perhaps the most recommended lens for this camera for travelers. It has an excellent focal length (16-70mm) for those who travel and need to photograph a little bit of everything. The price is a bit steep, unfortunately.
Rokinon 12mm f2 lens: If you like to take pictures of the stars, you need a lens with good aperture (f) and a wide field of view (like a 12mm). The Rokinon 12mm f2 is an excellent cost-effective option.
sony a7 iii - travel cameras
Sony A7 III - R $ 10,999 on Amazon: This is perhaps one of the best travel cameras due to its quality and size. It is a camera with a 24 mega pixel full frame sensor. It has two spaces for a memory card, Wi-Fi, protected against time (it is not waterproof, but it is drip resistant), it has 5-axis electronic image stabilization, it takes up to 10 photos per second, and it has a 3-inch touch screen.

For those of the video and vlogs, YouTube etc, Sony A7III shoots in 4K at up to 30 frames per second, and full HD (1080p) at up to 120 frames per second, which is great for those who want to play with slow motion videos .

The previous version (Sony A7II) is also an excellent alternative.

Lenses I recommend:

Rokinon 14mm 3.1: Excellent wide-angle lens, very good for night shots.
Sony Vario-Tessar T * FE 24-70mm f / 4 ZA OSS: Expensive lens, but with a great quality and very ersatile, excellent for travelers. It is a better quality alternative to a lens that usually comes with the camera, which is 28-70mm. If the money is short, you can go with the 28-70mm, which is also a great lens.
Sony FE 24-240mm f / 3.5-6.3 OSS E-Mount: Look at the zoom on this lens - 24-240mm. If you only want one lens for almost everything, this is a good option, although it is not a lens of the highest quality.
nikon z6 - travel cameras
Nikon Z6 - R $ 11,239 at Mercado Livre: It was only at the end of 2018 that Canon (with the Canon EOS R) and Nikon entered the race of mirrorless full frame cameras.

I shoot with Canon, and you usually join a brand and follow it all your life, because you end up investing in lenses, accessories, and you also get used to all the peculiar functioning of each system.

But I have to admit that, compared to Canon, Nikon did much better with the launch of its mirrorless full frame, making me include the Z6 among the best cameras for travel.

The Z6 has a 24.5 mega pixel full frame sensor, with a 3.2 inch touch screen. Shoots at 4k 30 frames per second, and takes up to 12 photos per second continuously.

It is weather resistant, has 5 axis stabilization and the reviews I read on the internet have said wonders of this camera.

Compared to its closest competitor (the Sony A7III that I mentioned above), maybe I’ll stick with Sony, which offers entry to two memory cards, better battery usage and a better autofocus system, in addition to a better universe of lenses. Still, the Z6 is a hell of a camera.
